Backless Dress D.I.Y

Hey everyone, this week I’m sharing my first Fall D.I.Y.  I used Simplicity Pattern Newlook 6508 view C. I love everything about this dress, its actually a two piece. I can wear the skirt and the top separately.  This dress is backless and both pieces ( top & skirt) is being held together by the 5  buttons in front of the dress.

To make this dress I purchased 2 1/4 yards of Rayon fabric in the color red and black. The  Newlook pattern fabric suggestions were Chambray, Crepe, and Cotton Types, but I chose Rayon because its lighter in weight. Sewing this dress was pretty easy and I love how it turned out.

Vintage Two Piece

Hey everyone, this is week I created a Summer Vintage look using two Simplicity Patterns. For the top I used Simplicity 1426 view D and Simplicity Pattern 1559 view D for the skirt.I had to alter the skirt and the top at the side seams by 1 inch to get the perfect.  Also, for the skirt I used an 7 inch invisible zipper instead of a regular zipper at the center back. Those were the only changes I made for this d.i.y, and I’m pretty happy with the results.

Sewing this two piece was very easy and fun and I just love the sunflower print fabric. Summer will be over soon, so I’m sewing my last few projects I had plan for the season.  Make sure your subscribed to stay updated on my latest post, thank you for the support.  Here is my Vintage Two Piece D.I.Y :

Today I’m wear McCall’s M7349 with my D.I.Y Pineapple print bucket bag. The dress I’m wearing is one of my favorite McCall patterns I made it twice last year ( Peach Dress).  So I went to Walmart and purchased 2 yards of pineapple print fabric because its a Summer fruit  and one of my favorites. I made my first bucket bag using a free tutorial on Youtube by Lejanaro Barnes and made matching earrings. There is one thing I love most about my style and it’s how I match accessories. When ever a bag is made I make sure to create matching earrings and vice versa. Yes, I make jewelry  and its a little challenging but fun. Had a quick photo-shoot before work.😊😁 Here is my OOTD:

Floral Fabric Haul

Hey everyone, this week I want to show some of my floral fabric from my stash. Most of these fabric I purchased last month and have plans to make dresses, tops, or skirts. I love floral print fabrics it’s one of my favorite types of material. This year I want to incorporate a lot more floral prints to my wardrobe. During the Spring and Summer is when I find the best apparel floral prints.

The first four fabrics are from the Joann’s store near my home. All four fabrics are 100% cotton, and I purchased 4 yards in each print. The price for these fabrics range from 5.99-7.99 a yard, they were on sale. The original price was between 10.99-14.99 a yard. The very last one on the bottom ( Blue & Black) I brought to make my boyfriend some Summer shorts, the rest will be tops, or dress.

Next, is this very beautiful blue floral print I found at the Los Angeles Fashion District. Its a cotton/poly blend, soft and sparkly, the price was 1.99 a yard, I purchased 4 yards to make a dress. This print is one of my favorite materials that I purchased so far.

Lastly, this black and pink floral print its 100% polyester. My plans were to make a pants and crop top but I change my mind, decided to make a dress instead. I purchase 4 yards of this fabric at the end of the month at my local fabric store Mylee Sewing Machine  for 5.99 a yard. I’ll be using McCall’s Pattern M7745  View A to sew a dress with this fabric, stay tuned for that post I’m working on this right now.
