Hey everyone, this week I created a simple dress using McCall’s Pattern M7833 View A. I have a feeling this pattern is going to be one of my favorite Fall pattern.
For this d.i.y I didn’t need a lot of materiel or notions to create this look. I purchased one spool of thread and 2 yards of burgundy double knit stretch fabric that is very soft and has a golden shimmer effect. Instead of purchasing ribbon as the pattern suggested I created my own custom ribbon. I had some 1/2 burgundy bias tape in my stash, so I cut two 45″ pieces then top-stitched them both with gold embroidery thread. I used the ribbon to create a drawstring on the left front side of the dress.
Also, view A has sleeve so I opted out of the sleeve and finished my armhole with the same 1/2″ burgundy bias tape. Sewing this dress was a breeze and I really enjoyed making this look. I will most likely sew this again, but the next time I will be hacking this pattern. Until then here is my version of McCall’s M7833 View A.
