Hi everyone, for the past two weeks I’ve been working on my very first crochet design. After crocheting so many other designer patterns, I’ve decided to create my own. Summer is near and I chose to design a swimsuit cover-up. Since this was my first time creating my own design I purchased a crochet stitch dictionary book to help to get me started. The book is titled Crochet Stitch Dictionary: 200 Essential Stitches with Step-by-Step Photos, and it is was very helpful when choosing the stitch patterns for this project. I highly recommend this book as a reference to anyone who just started learning or has been crocheting for years.
For this d.i.y I used three balls of 100% acrylic Sweet Roll yarn by Premier Yarns to complete this top. Crocheting this design was fun and I’m so happy with how great it looks. But there are few things I have to make perfect when I crochet this pattern again. First, I will need to figure out exactly where I want the placement of the neckline and also how long I want the sleeves. The sleeves were at least 3 inches longer as you can see in the photo. Also, I may shorten the back of the top. Other than that, this pattern turn out great, I’m working on a sherbet version this week. I will have an update on that version next week. In the meantime here is my very first crochet design.
